What are the external works being carried out?

External Facade Works
These primarily relate to the final facade works which are purely aesthetics. All fire protection and stopping is fully complete throughout the building and independently certified for safe occupation by Building control. The completion of these works is done using a series of mast climbers which will be in operation during the hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with Sat 9 to 1pm. These mast climbers will be in operation in the upper floors (above level 10) and, whilst they may pass windows, will not stop at occupied floors. The mast climbers will progressively be removed as the works are completed. All works expected to end by October 2025.

Access to floors 11 and above including the Sky lounge and terrace will be open from 1st Nov 2025.

Temporary protective fencing is in place with clearly designated access into the building and for all fire exits for safe egress and escape if required.

A limited number of workers will be using the lift within the main building for access to the restricted higher floors supervised by on site management. There are two other lifts available for resident use only.

Highway works
New kerbs and footpaths works are being completed on behalf of the local authority directly outside of the building. These works may continue until Jan 2026, but will not prevent safe access into and out of the building.

Adjacent construction works
Next door to the building there are separate building works. These involve partial restrictions to the bottom of Hollis Croft Road and pavement. We have no control over these works.

Do I need a TV licence in my bedroom or shared kitchen?

Where TVs are provided in communal spaces, they already have a TV licence. If there is a TV installed in your room, you will need to buy a TV Licence yourself. This is also the case if there is a TV in your shared kitchen, in which case you and your flatmates will need to arrange this. You require a TV Licence if you:

  • Watch or record live programmes as they’re being shown on TV, on any channel.
  • Watch or stream programmes live on an online TV service (such as ITV Hub, All 4, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Now TV, Sky Go, etc.).
  • You do not need a TV license to stream on demand programmes, unless they are on BBC iPlayer.

This applies to any device you use, including a TV, desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, games console, digital box or DVD/VHS recorder. If you’re planning to use a phone, tablet or a laptop to watch TV, you are a UK citizen and your parents have a licence at home, you do not need to buy an additional TV Licence.

You can buy a TV Licence at the Post Office, or online at www.tvlicensing.co.uk.
