1. Gershwins Coffee House
Located right in the heart of the city, Gershwins has been offering visitors home-cooked, locally sourced food for decades. Open since the 1980s, the coffee house is family run and offers deliciously cooked breakfasts available with free tea and filtered coffee. If you are looking for a hearty traditional cooked breakfast, this is the perfect spot for you.
If you are visiting Gershwins for breakfast, you have to try the traditional Welsh breakfast. This intriguing dish comes with bacon, sausage, egg, local cockles, laverbread, mushrooms, black pudding, tinned tomatoes and fried bread, and is a must try –you know what they say, when in Rome!
2. Bluebells Coffee Kitchen
A stone's throw from Uplands, Bluebells Coffee & Kitchen is a stunning coffee shop & restaurant. Family run, this gorgeous breakfast spot serves freshly cooked breakfast, brunch and lunch - all made from scratch in their open-plan kitchen. Bluebells offers a wide range of breakfast options served right up until 3pm, perfect for those who aren’t early rises but still enjoy breakfast foods! The menu offers something for everyone, and hints of the owners’ Greek heritage!
We couldn’t recommend the Greek breakfast more if you are visiting Bluebells. A nod to their Greek heritage, the delicious breakfast includes Homemade Greek Style Sausage, Halloumi, Egg Your Way, Back Bacon, Herbed Mushrooms, BBQ Beans, Greek Lemon & Oregano Sautéed Potatoes, Cherry Vine Tomatoes & Homemade Toast – delicious!
3. Station 86
Located in Gowerton, Station 86 is the most gorgeous quirky breakfast spot. A very popular spot, Station 86 offers a range of delicious breakfasts from the basic porridge through to an epic brunch burger along with coffee. Check out their Instagram for some mouth-watering content!
It’s hard to pick just one dish from this menu, but for something a little different, we absolutely loved the ‘Magic Mushrooms’. Mushrooms and spinach in a cream and brie sauce on sourdough toast – delicious! You can even add pancetta.
Based right in the heart of Swansea Marina, Coast Café is the ideal breakfast spot. Not only does it have stunning views, but a stunning menu too. Sit back, relax and gaze into the beauty of the Marina whilst tucking into the delicious freshly-baked pastries. Did we mention it is also dog friendly?!
A newer addition to the menu, we absolutely loved the pancakes! The stack comes with maple syrup, but you can also add bacon– yum!
5. Crumbs Kitchen
Last, but by no means least, Crumbs Kitchen is nestled in Gwydir Square and offers a completely vegetarian menu. This family-run cafe was born out of a passion for cooking vegan and vegetarian food made from the finest and freshest organic ingredients. Don’t be put off by the small breakfast menu, it is all extremely tasty and what helps make this a popular spot.
The eggs Florentine is delicious and extremely reasonably priced too!
