Sláinte Mhaith true students! St Patrick’s Day is here and whether you’re an Irish native, descendant or simply a lover of the culture, it’s a day to celebrate together.

Which is why we’ve put together a list of the best St Patrick’s Day events around your true building, so you and your pals can get involved in the spectacular festivities!

Birmingham

There’s no better place to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Birmingham than the Irish Quarter, Digbeth. Steeped in Irish history and culture, and the home to the incredible annual St Patrick’s Day parade, Digbeth has plenty to offer for the perfect Paddy’s Day bash!

Our pick for this weekend’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations is Norton Digbeth, an independent Irish bar and music venue with a reputation for quality pints, live music and all the craic you’d expect from an Irish pub.

This Saturday the 18th, Norton Digbeth is hosting a St Patrick’s Day Saturday celebration with two of Birmingham’s best known Irish bands – LAMPA and Cairde!

Open from 10am serving up full Irish breakfasts with all the six nations games showing through the afternoon, to live music and DJs late into the night.

It’s free entry until 9pm then £5 on the door afterwards, so if you’re a true Birmingham resident, get yourself down nice and early to do Paddy’s Day right!

Glasgow

With a booming Irish population and true appreciation for the closely associate culture, Glasgow is an iconic city when it comes to St Patrick’s Day events.

A truly beloved event by students, and now coming to Glasgow on Saturday the 18th is Paddy’s Fest. Hosted at the ever-popular Classic Grand on Jamacia Street, this day festival is one of the biggest in the UK and is prepared to provide a proper Paddy’s Day party!

With live music, a green and Irish pride dress code, and student deals galore, you can guarantee St Patrick’s Day will be done right.

Starting at 2pm and partying on till 6pm, book your tickets to join the boozy journey through a sea of green hats, banging DJs and an unmissable St Patrick’s Day weekend!

Liverpool

Known as the second capital of Ireland for many proud Irish natives and descendants, Liverpool is steeped in Irish history and is renowned for its unbeatable St Patrick’s Day celebrations in the UK.

It wouldn’t be St Patrick’s Day in Liverpool without a tipple in O’Neill’s – A true Irish pub in every sense of the word, O’Neill’s feels as though it was plucked straight out the emerald isle and dropped onto Hannover Street for all Liverpudlians to enjoy.

With a weekend full of celebrations, live sport, music, and of course, copious pints of the black stuff, it’d be criminal to not join the weekend-long party at O’Neill’s this St Patrick’s Day!

Manchester and Salford

Picture this, you’re a true Manchester, Salford student, it’s St Patrick’s Day weekend and the weather is looking phenomenal – what’s the first thing that comes to mind? That’s right, beer garden!

Which is why our top pick for Paddy’s Day celebrations in Manchester is O’Shea’s Beer Garden.

Hosting a two-week long Irish Festival until the 20th, O’Shea’s Beer Garden is the perfect spot for great Guinness, fantastic food, live music and plenty of Irish craic!

As pound-for-pound one of the best cities for a proper party, Newcastle is no stranger to huge scale events that shouldn’t be missed. If you’ve been around the Newcastle event scene for a while, you’ll be familiar with the unreal St Patrick’s Day event, Paddy Fest Weekender!

Taking place at NX Newcastle this Saturday the 18th, Paddy Fest has seen over 10,000 people at the event over the past 4 years, and for good reason.
