Hidden in the heart of Glasgow’s West End is the student’s hub that is Byres Road. With the buzz of student life and a range of amazing cafés, restaurants and bars, there is something for everyone. Only two minutes from the University of Glasgow’s main campus, it’s a great spot with lots to explore.
Whether you’re in the mood for a pint of fun at Glasgow University Union; a classic gin-and- strawberry mojito at Book Club; a pint and chats with friends in the beer garden at Record Factory; or just a health kick smoothie at Juice Garden, Byres Road has it all.
When choosing where to dine for the night, the options are endless and there’s something for even the fussiest of taste buds. Bar Soba is just off University Avenue if you’re in the mood for chill vibes and seriously good Asian street food. As students, the options for hungover scran is unlimited with Taco Mazama and Greggs on the same street - sorted. However, don’t fret as vegetarians are also catered for with the secluded Vietnamese Hanoi Bike Shop that is discretely hidden just off the main road.
Byres Road caters perfectly for your health and wellbeing as well, ranging from tennis courts at Dowanhill, just off the main road, to Bikram yoga for those wanting some chill time and a break from studying. Alongside this is the refurbished university gym which sports (pun intended) a wide range of classes and facilities. For less sporty people, there's a charming cinema tucked away on Ashton Lane which broadcasts the most recent releases.
The bustling student life here is one of the reasons why True Student Living are excited to have our pop-up shop here on 183 Byres Road with students able to enter our show flat and chat about their student accommodation for next year with us in Finnieston.
